Published rules, current portal

Task mechanics are stable study guidance, but dates, delivery details, and eligibility can change. Use the latest participant materials and portal instructions if they differ.

iWhy the labels matter: this lab mirrors the published task mechanics with original questions, while keeping the current APS India and dMAT links visible for the route students actually take.

CORE MODULE

Figure Sequences

  • A figure can change colour, rotate, or move vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
  • A diagonal move cannot change into a different movement type.
  • Movement, colour, or orientation can change by one step at a time.
  • A mark does not disappear, overlap, or leave the grid; at a boundary it bounces or follows the outside edge.
  • A 4 × 4 matrix is shown four times. Choose the pair that correctly gives frames five and six; the six answer pairs are arranged as A–F.
  • Easy practice starts with one figure. Medium sets use three independent figures, while Hard sets use four; track each symbol separately before combining the rules.
  • Practice items combine outer-boundary loops, inner-row or inner-column bounces, diagonal reflections, repeating direction cycles, increasing steps, colour cycles, and visible rotations.
  • A figure cannot disappear, overlap, or leave the matrix. At a boundary it either bounces, reverses along a diagonal, or continues along the outer boundary.
CORE MODULE

Mathematical Equations

  • Each letter represents an integer from 1 to 20.
  • Every system has one unique solution for each letter.
  • A system can contain several equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. Solve all unknowns and check every line.
  • The official material advises guessing when you are unsure; there is no rough work in the room.
CORE MODULE

Latin Squares

  • The square is 5 × 5 and uses only the letters shown in the answer choices.
  • Each letter appears exactly once in every row and every column.
  • The response row beside the grid contains the only letters that may appear. Fill the question-mark cell mentally, sometimes solving another empty field first.
  • The published task format uses a 25-minute block for 20 items; always follow the current participant instructions if the route changes.
APS INDIA SUBJECT MODULE

General Academic Module

  • A text, problem, figure, table, or formula can introduce a group of related single-choice questions.
  • There are four answer options for each question and exactly one correct solution.
  • Topics can span mathematics, computational sciences, natural sciences, engineering, business, economics, social sciences, and humanities.
  • The subject test is 90 minutes. No notes are allowed and the official materials advise guessing when unsure.
Quality boundary: official sample questions and graphics remain protected. The practice room recreates their structure and reasoning demands with new values, new wording, and original graphics.
